How we helped the client
The management of one of Sweden’s largest logistics company had decided to take the company to a new level. For some time they had had decent profitability, but felt that there were significant opportunities for the company to improve itself and increase its market share.
Actea’s task was to develop and clarify the management’s idea of where it was going, develop a basis for the management’s new strategy and produce a programme of change for the whole company.
How we did it
As the company had unsuccessfully tried to implement comparable changes during the past five years, there was evidence of some resistance within the organisation. We therefore started our work by analysing how the management team worked, as well as taking note of the results from a number of less successful change projects.
Due to shortcomings in the performance of the incumbent management team, a new management team was appointed, and we continued our work with them. We drew up a carefully considered vision in terms of targeted outcomes of the new level the company was aspiring to. We conducted a barrier analysis and identified possible areas of resistance and bottlenecks within the organisation. From there, working in tandem with the management team, we developed a new strategy.
What we achieved
Actea delivered a programme of change to help the company reach the next level. The programme showed a number of things, including how the company’s new value proposition was to be developed, how it would be more efficient in its internal processes, how information support would be developed to support the new business, and how the new organisation would work. After implementing this change programme, the company is a tougher prospect in a highly competitive market – and what’s more, they now have a bigger share of it.
